- Affinity Discount
This discount is available for insureds who are members of an "eligible" group and meet other specified criteria. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Alternative Fuel Discount
Farmers was the first Auto insurer to reward environmentally conscious drivers by reducing their insurance premiums. Our Alternative Fuel Discount applies to drivers of gas/electric hybrid vehicles and other alternative fuel vehicles. This discount applies to all major coverages, including Comprehensive, Collision, Bodily Injury/Property Damage, Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist and Medical/Personal Injury Protection. The discount applies to the hundreds of thousands of gas/electric hybrids on the road today. But other energy efficient vehicles that use alternative fuel also qualify:
Fuel types that qualify for the discount:
- Gas/electric Hybrids
- Electric only
- Natural gas only
- Ethanol only
- Methanol only
- Propane only
Fuel types that don’t qualify for the discount:
- Diesel
- Flexible fuel (e.g. gasoline or ethanol)
- Gasoline engines converted to use other fuels

- Anti-Lock Brakes Discount
To qualify, the automobile must be equipped with a factory-installed Anti-lock braking system on all 4 wheels. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Auto/Home Discount
A 20% discount on the Homeowners policy premium may be applied when the insured on the Farmers Next Generation Homeowners policy also has an Auto policy with Farmers. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Auto/Life Discount
The discount applies to the Auto policy, provided a member of the household is also the owner of a Term, Whole Life, Universal Life or Variable Universal Life insurance policy with a face amount of $50,000 or greater issued by Farmers NewWorld Life Insurance Company. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Discount
This discount is available to all customers who enroll in Farmers EasyPay automatic checking withdrawal billing system. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Farmers & Ranchers Occupational Discount
Automobiles, including farm trucks not exceeding one ton, shall be entitled to the “Farm Discount” or the “Farmers Occupational Rates” provided: The named Insured is the owner, tenant, or permanent resident of the farm or ranch premises, and; The automobile is principally garaged on a farm or ranch, and; The automobile is not customarily used in driving to and from work other than farming, or in driving to or from school, and; The automobile is not customarily involved in nor required for any occupation other than farming. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Good Student Discount
All single owners and operators under 25 years of age, whose use of the automobile affects the rates charged, must be full-time students in high school, or enrolled as full-time students in academic courses in a college or university. Each student must be in the upper 20% of the academic standing of his or her class, have a grade average of “B” or its equivalent, in schools that maintain a system referred to as a “Dean’s List”, “Honor Roll”, or comparable designation, the student shall have attained such designation of academic standing. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Passive Restraint Discount
The discount is available on Medical coverage. To qualify, the automobile must be equipped with a factory-installed air bag or other passive restraint system that meets Federal Safety Standards. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Prior Insurance Discount
Insureds in Mid-Century who have been continuously insured by any insurance carrier over the prior six months qualify. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Senior Defensive Driver Discount
To qualify for this discount the principal operator must be at least 65 years of age or, in some states, 55 years of age and have successfully completed a Driver's Education course approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles. A certificate of completion from the approved agency must be furnished to the company. (Not available in Missouri)
- Two Or More Automobiles Discount
The Two or More Car Discount shall be applied to two or more private passenger automobiles which are kept at the same location and owned (or leased on a long term basis) by:
- An individual or husband and wife or a parent, grandparent, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother, sister or grandchild of either who is a resident of the same household.
- A corporation, partnership, or association if the automobile is not rated for business use.

- Youth Education & Safety (Y.E.S.) Discount
The Y.E.S. Program offers two discount options for youthful drivers in the Mid-Century Company--the Y.E.S. Premier and Y.E.S. Standard Youthful Driver Discount plans. Apply to any youth under the age of 25. The youth must live with their parents or guardians, unless attending and residing at a college/university. No citations or accidents for the youthful driver in the past 36 months or for the length of time driving, whichever is shorter. The youthful driver must successfully complete a video/workbook program covering issues on insurance economics and driving safety. (Not available in Kansas)
- Age 40 Plus Discount
This discount applies if the oldest named insured is age 40 or older. (Not available in Kansas)
- Age 50 Plus Discount
This discount applies if the oldest named insured is age 50 or older. (Not available in Missouri)
- Auto/Home Discount
A 20% discount on the Homeowners policy premium may be applied when the insured on the Farmers Next Generation Homeowners policy also has an Auto policy with Farmers. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Business & Professional Group Discount
A 5% discount is available if the named insured (or spouse) on a Farmers Next Generation Homeowners policy is a member of a specified kind of business or professional group and meets other criteria. (Not available in Kansas)
- Home/Life Discount
A 5% discount on the homeowners policy applies if specified criteria are met. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Interior Inspection Discount
This discount is applied to the Homeowners policy premium of customers whose homes are qualified through an interior inspection of the house conducted by a vendor of Farmers. Additional criteria apply. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- New Home/Home Renovation Discount
Homes constructed during the current calendar year and the last 7-9 calendar years (depending on State) are acceptable for this discount. Homes which have been renovated are also acceptable for this discount provided the specified work has been completed by a qualified (licensed where required) contractor and the appropriate documentation submitted. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Non-Smoker Discount
Applies when all resident members of the household have not smoked tobacco products in the past 2 years. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Protective Devices Discount
This discount applies when the insured maintains specified protection devices. (Available in both Kansas & Missouri)
- Roof Surfacing Discount
A discount is available if the roof meets minimum, specified requirements. (Not available in Missouri)
